Supporting local good causes – call for nominations

ASSA is pleased to support local good causes through the income we raise from holding fundraising events, as well as the facility fees that we charge to TV and film companies for using our location for filming.

Is there a local good cause that you wish to nominate to receive a modest grant from ASSA funds?

Our most recent recipients of funds have included:

  • Friends of Tate South Lambeth Library
  • Oasis playscheme
  • Quaker Book Trust
  • St Stephen’s parents and toddlers group
  • Thrive (therapeutic gardening for people with disabilities)
  • United Families homework club (for children from the Eritrean community)
  • Vauxhall City Farm

Please send us your suggestions for further good causes, with a short description of their work and contact details, and we will announce further recipients on this website.

  1. I’m not sure how to nominate (ie who I should email) but I would like to recommend the Remakery. A local co-operative on Lilford Road setting up shared workshops for making items out of waste materials, due to open in September 2013. It will have a big educational and social programme and is already working with many disadvantaged members of the local community through training opportunities on the renovation of its site. http://www.remakery.org.

  2. Thanks Rebekah, that’s very interesting. Will discuss with the committee and get back to you. Many thanks BrendaAlbert Square and St Stephen’s Associati
