FixMyStreet is a simple way of letting Lambeth council know about things which need fixing – broken lamp posts, dangerous paving stones, and so on. All you have to do is put in your postcode, click on the map exactly where the problem is and give a short description. All that then gets sent to the Council, who can provide updates on what they are doing and show when the problem has been fixed.
Lambeth has a tendency to be a bit trigger-happy on closing cases – they sometimes seem to confuse referring the problem to somebody to sort out with actually fixing it – but that doesn’t stop it being useful. There are two links in the column to the right – the first one under the ‘Local services’ heading is the one to use to report a problem. A bit lower down, the five most recently reported problems in Stockwell ward are shown – click to see details of any which you are interested in.
There is now a Free iPhone app which simplifies submitting reports to FixMyStreet whilst out and about. Simply whip out your phone, take a photo of the problem (optional), get the location (by several intuitive methods) and either submit it right away or save it for later and edit it when you have more time.
